Norman Marcel

Norman Anthony Marcel, 85, a native of Houma, La., and resident of Thibodaux, La., died on Monday, August 8, 2016.

Mr. Marcel retired as a professor at Nicholls State University after 31 years of teaching. He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Gray Smith Marcel; daughters, Mary Matthews, Paula Bothner and Missy Loupe; step-daughter, Margaret Neff; step-sons, Philip and Eric Lyons; sisters, Louise Porche and Alice Clark; brothers, Louis Marcel and Kurt Marcel; 13 grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A private burial will take place at a later date.
