June 1, 2018As the weather warms up in south. Louisiana, so does the fishing! As far as fundraising and having a good time go. one of the best events to host in the summer is a fishing rodeo. The summer months are packed with your choice of event every weekend. Pack up the boat and carry yourself to the nearest marina. There’s sure to be a lot of fishing going on!
SWOLLFEST FISHING RODEO
Founded in 1997. this non-profit organization raises funds year-round far the American Diabetes Association. Muscular Dystrophy Association and mare. This year’s rodeo proceeds will benefit the new freestanding Our lady of the Lake Children’s Hospital Swollfest kicks off Wednesday with a bonus fishing day. followed by competition fishing beginning Thursday Registration is $20 for children 12 years of age and younger. $85 for adults and $100 for the Swollfest Package, which includes a variety of rodeo souvenirs.

BUBBA DOVE FISHING RODEO
Cast a line at the 10th annual Bubba Dove Fishing Rodeo. There are inshore, offshore, and children’s categories. Tickets are 130: cost includes rodeo entry, entry into the door prize drawing, including a $1,000 cash drawing, a .shirt, and food and soft drinks during scale times. All proceeds benefit charitable causes aimed at restoring the Gulf Coast, the promotion of education to those less fortunate, and other important local causes.

LOUISIANA PIPELINERS FISHING RODEO
This scholarship fundraiser begins on Friday with registration, followed by a day of fishing on Saturday. Categories include Biggest Trout, Redfish and Stringer as well as a “You Should Have Been Here Yesterday” Lotto in which four teams will be chosen at random during weigh-in and entered into a prize drawing Registration is $500 per team and door prize tickets are $5

CREOLE CLASSIC FISHING TOURNAMENT
The brainchild of several men relaxing at BUY Marina in Leeville 30+ year a ago, this annual affair draws thousands to the Island annually. Boiled seafood is served to ticket holders and awards are handed out at 5 pm Saturday. Stay after awards to enjoy the sounds of Good Feelings Band. Cost is $25 for adults, $15 for children 12 years old and under.

GOLDEN MEADOWY FOURCHON INTERNATIONAL TARPON RODEO
Being the whole family for this competition to see who can snag the best catch. Throughout the weekend, participants and spectators may enjoy live music from Rich 0 Toole and BACWEN, as well as food, an auction and the King of the Catch Cook-Off. Proceeds benefit scholarships and educational opportunities for future generations. Rodeo rickets are $35 for adults and $20 for kids. Fees include a fishing towel, rodeo book, boiled shrimp dinner and chance at awards and prizes.

FOUCHON OILMAN’S ASSOCISTION FISHING INVITATIONAL
The Fouchon Oilman’s Association hosts this annual fishing tournament Registration kicks off on Thursday, fishing begins at first light on Friday through Saturday. Each night badge numbers will be called for door prizes including an express 18′ boat with 90hp Yamaha 4-Stroke and trailer.
