Jail inmate accused of rape dies after hanging

Ida Billiot, 75, a native of Golden Meadow, La., and resident of Cut Off, La., died on Monday, June 27, 2016.
Mrs. Billiot loved dancing and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her sons, Manson (Linda), Randy (Dena) and Floyd (Brigette) Billiot; daughters, Ella (Edel) Perez, Fay (Nick) Esteban, Lucy (Carl) Leger, Angie (Bobby) Billiot and Stella (Peanut) Billiot; 22 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; and special friend Harriet Pierce.
Burial is at Cheramie Cemetery in Galliano.
