John Delbert Cato, 62, a native of Dexter, Mo., and a resident of Schriever, La., lost his fight with cancer Friday, March 13.

He is survived by his wife, Nellie Braud; daughters, Angela Niehaus and husband Lester, Pamela Guidry and husband Felican “Pappy”, and Linda Niehaus and husband Cary “Dino”; sons, John “Scrappy” Cato, James Cato and wife Bethany, and Mark Cato and wife Tonya; brothers, Earl H. Cato and wife Carolyn, Richard Cato and wife Joan, Dale Cato and wife Connie, and Clayton Cato and wife Patricia; sisters, Patricia Smith and husband Charlie, Nancy Clay and husband Gary, and Judy Moore and husband; one half brother; and six half sisters.

He was general manager of Schriever Auto Parts for 27 years and he was always “A little better than excellent!” He will be sadly missed by all that knew and loved him.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 21, at House of Prayers in Thibodaux, La.

Samart Funeral Home of Houma, La., is in charge of the arrangements.
