Thomas “Tom” Maurice Dantin, 43, a native of Cut Off, La., died Thursday, May 12, 2011.

Mr. Dantin was a loving husband and devoted father. He was a professional engineer, a graduate of LSU in electrical engineering and UNO for his MBA as well as Louisiana School for Math, Science and the Arts. Dedicated to serving his children, he was highly involved in Troop 277 of the Boy Scouts and Palmer Catholic Academy. He was an avid sportsman, Saints fan and Cajun chef.

He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Ullo Dantin; children, Thomas Jr. (Reece), Amy and Leah; siblings, Ched (Anne) Dantin and Monique (Ron) Gorham; parents-in-law, Dr. and Mrs. Frank J. Ullo; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and other family members.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lee Roy and Eloise Callahan Dantin; and one sister, Michele Guidry.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting memorial donations be made in the name of Thomas M. Dantin to Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church Building Fund, 545, AIA North, Ponte Vedra Beach, FL, 904-249-1100. (Quinn-Shulz)
