
Lafourche Parish shows signs of slow return to normalcy

Charles Joseph Adams Sr., 79, a native and resident of Thibodaux, La., died at 8:30 a.m. Friday, September 5.
He is survived by his wife, Pearl B. Adams; one son, Charles J. Adams Jr.; three stepsons, Randy Hebert, Gary Hebert and Michael Toups; one daughter, Cindy Adams; two stepdaughters, Lisa Silverii and Sandra Toups; 21 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Dorothy Mae Stevens; his parents, Auguste Adams and Gertie Thibodaux Adams; one daughter, Connie Adams Chiasson; one brother, Jessie Adams; and one grandson, Tyler Hebert.
He was retired from McDermott Corporation and was a Korean War Army veteran. He was a member of the Volunteer Fire Department and the VFW and was a volunteer cook at St. Joseph Lenten Gumbo Lunches.
Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday, September 17, at Thibodaux Funeral Home and 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. Thursday, September 18, at St. Joseph Co-Cathedral with mass to follow. He will be buried at the church cemetery.
Thibodaux Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
