The Bayou Industrial Group (B.I.G.) is excited to announce the return of its Annual Seafood Social for Scholarships, presented by REV/REV Business. This fourth annual, highly anticipated event is set for Wednesday, October 16, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Nicholls State University John L. Guidry Stadium.
The Seafood Social is more than just a celebration of local flavors; it’s a vital fundraiser supporting B.I.G. scholarships for students at Nicholls State University and Fletcher Technical Community College. Attendees can enjoy all-you-can-eat seafood, accompanied by beer, soft drinks, and water. The evening will also feature live music and a lively auction.
Sponsorships and individual tickets are available, offering various perks including event tickets, advertising on social media, the B.I.G. website, and email campaigns, as well as signage at the event. Sponsors will also receive verbal recognition during the event and at an associated luncheon, with higher sponsorship levels receiving additional benefits.
Bayou Industrial Group (B.I.G.) awarded $28,000 in scholarships to fourteen local students who will be attending Nicholls State University and Fletcher Technical Community College. These students were recognized at B.I.G.’s July luncheon. B.I.G has awarded over $150,000 dollars in scholarships since the program’s inception in 1998.
“Our scholarship program was designed to facilitate access to the education and training that will prepare these students for the next steps in their lives and careers.” said B.I.G. Scholarship Chair Steve Barbera. The scholarships are awarded through a competitive process and are open to both graduating seniors and non-traditional students. The scholarships are funded through the proceeds of B.I.G.’s Annual Seafood Social, which for 2024 is scheduled for Wednesday, October 16 at Nicholls State University.
