LDWF Reminds Artists of Admission Dates for 2025 Louisiana Duck Stamp Contest
October 8, 2024The Gamer’s Collecting Club in Houma is excited to present the newest addition to the annual Rougarou Festival– Rou-Ga-Con!
Gamers, collectors, and all festival attendees are invited to come to the Barry P. Bonvillain Civic Center on October 19, 2024 from 10:00 AM-4:00 PM and experience a spooky twist on the average Comic Con.
“We are really excited to host the first ever Rou-Ga Con,” said William Bergeron, President of the Gamer’s Collecting Club. “While our goal is to reach out to a new generation of kids to help grow a new community of gamers, we will also have something for everyone– even if you don’t consider yourself a gamer.”
Rou-Ga-Con will have a variety of new and vintage comics, toys, cards, games, tournaments, and other collectibles, as well as an official cosplay contest. Admission to Rou-Ga-Con is free, and open to all ages.
The Rougarou Fest is a family-friendly festival with a spooky flair that celebrates the rich folklore that exists along the bayous of Southeast Louisiana. All proceeds go to the South Louisiana Wetlands Discovery Center, a nonprofit organization that is revolutionizing how we think, teach and learn about Louisiana’s disappearing coast. The festival will take place October 18-20, 2024 in Houma.
