Community members are invited to come out and offer a prayer in support of the local first responders at the annual Blue Mass in Thibodaux.

Held every year at St. Joseph Co-Cathedral in Thibodaux, the Blue Mass is an opportunity for citizens to honor those in the field of public safety. The event is sponsored by the Diocese of Houma-Thibodaux.

“Many of our deputies, myself included, view this career as a higher calling,” said Captain Brennan Matherne with the Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office. “We look forward to the annual Blue Mass as a reminder, not only of that very calling, but also that our community is praying for our safety each and every day.”

This year’s Blue Mass will take place on Wednesday, September 25, 2024 at noon at St. Joseph Co-Cathedral in Thibodaux. A reception will follow in the Life Center. For more information, please visit the Diocese of Houma-Terrebonne or Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office on Facebook.
