October 19, 2024The Regional Military Museum in Houma has announced several events throughout the month of November to celebrate our veterans.
Veterans Day falls annually on November 11, 2024, when the country comes together to honor military veterans of the United States Armed Forces and their sacrifices.
Located near historic downtown Houma, the Regional Military Museum is a non-profit dedicated to preserving the memory of those who served– the local museum accomplishes this mission not just with their extensive and unique displays, but also by hosting events to honor those in our area.
The first event will feature the Houma-Terrebonne Community Stage Band, which will present “A Swingin’ Saturday” live music performance on Saturday, November 2, 2024 at 1154 Barrow Street in Houma from 3:00 PM-5:00 PM. Admission is $10.
Next comes the free pancake breakfast to honor local veterans, hosted by the Regional Military Museum and Houma Elks Lodge #1193 on Saturday, November 9, 2024 from 9:00 AM-11:00 AM at 1154 Barrow Street. To RSVP, please call (985) 873-8200.
Directly after, the Regional Military Museum will host a special show by Tommy G. and Stormy Weather, which will include an area to dance, concessions for sale, and a silent auction on Saturday, November 9, 2024 from 4:00 PM-8:00 PM at 1154 Barrow Street. Admission is $10.
Lastly, come honor our veterans on Veterans Day with a special free-admission Museum Open House on November 11, 2024 from 10:00 AM-4:00 PM at 1154 Barrow Street. The Mulberry Elementary School 4-H Club will present a short program ay 10:30 AM, and there will be a free light lunch and tours of the museum.
