Community members are invited to come out for the 2nd Annual Get Colored for the Kids Color Run, Family Day, and Butterfly Release, all in support of St. Jude Children’s Hospital to help those fighting childhood cancer.

Hosted by the local nonprofit, the Cajun Crew for St. Jude, 2024 Get Colored for the Kids will consist of a family color fun lap, a color run 5K, a live butterfly release, face painting, music, and a memory ceremony from a local family of honor to share their stories. All proceeds from the event will go towards St. Jude Children’s Hospital, supporting their mission to save lives, encourage hope, and find a cure to childhood cancer.

“We became a local nonprofit a few years ago, and our only purpose is to raise funds for St. Jude,” explained Valerie Sepulvado, Founder and President of the Cajun Crew for St. Jude. “We started as a running team, and it was our dream to incorporated running in our yearly fundraiser– and we just knew a color run would be such a great idea. We want to honor those who are still fighting childhood cancer, and the memory of those no longer with us.”

The Get Colored for the Kids event will take place on Saturday, October 5, 2024 at Peltier Park in Thibodaux. Tickets may be purchased here, with all funds going towards St. Jude Children’s Hospital.

“We are hoping to grow every single year,” continued Valerie. “We want to make this a fun morning full of hope and bring families together.”
