Terrebonne Public Library and the Friends of the Terrebonne Library are hosting the 19th annual Jambalaya Writers’ Conference on Saturday, October 5. The tradition of bringing award winning authors, editors, and publishers continues with presenters Adrian Van Young, Folwell Dunbar, Abram Himelstein, Emma C. Wells, and the Southern Writers’ Workshop.
The conference will begin at 1 pm at the Main Library. It will include sessions on self-publishing, memoirs, and how to build characters.
Sign-up for pitch and editor sessions will also begin at 1 pm.
The keynote speaker will be New Orleanian Maurice Carlos Ruffin, award-winning author of We Cast a Shadow and the national bestseller The American Daughters. He will be speaking on his journey as an author.
Book sales and author signings will be available throughout the conference.

The much anticipated First Page American Idol will start at 3 pm, bring the first page of your manuscript and it might be read aloud anonymously in front of a panel of our presenters to receive immediate feedback.

The conference is free and open to the public.
