Cooler weather means it is officially time for gumbo– and what better way to celebrate than at the Louisiana Gumbo Festival of Chackbay this weekend!
Hosted in Chackbay, also known as the Gumbo Capital of Louisiana, the local festival will be celebrating its 51st year with live music, a parade, carnival rides, games, and most importantly, 500 gallons of fresh seafood, chicken, and sausage gumbo. This event was previously named one of the Top 20 Events in the Southeast by the Southeast Tourism Society, and all proceeds support the local Chackbay Volunteer Fire Department.

The Louisiana Gumbo Festival of Chackbay will take place October 11-13, 2024 at 326 Highway 304 in Chackbay. Kelly Boudreaux will serve as the 2024 Gumbo Queen, alongside Ben Benoit as 2024 Gumbo King and Billy Lawson as 2024 Grand Marshall. Read their full biographies here.
