NWS issues Flood, Tornado Watches for Terrebonne and Lafourche Parishes
September 11, 2024Hero Fest September 20 – 22 Barry P. Bonvillain Civic Center– Hero Fest 2024 is a dedicated event aimed at supporting the first responders of Terrebonne Parish. Attendees can enjoy a range of attractions, including live music, food, rides, and a craft show, offering a weekend of fun for the entire family. The funds raised from Hero Fest will be used to fund scholarships for children of first responders, support for families of first responders in need, and more.
3rd Annual POW/MIA Recognition Day September 20 at 12:15 p.m. Houma Courthouse Square– Come support POW/MIA of all USA’s military branches. There will be a pledge, prayer, and reading.
Fall Arts Walk September 20 from 5 – 8 p.m. Historic Downtown Thibodaux– Thibodaux Main St. invites the community to stroll the streets and visit businesses while enjoying the talents of a variety of local artists set up along the sidewalks and storefronts. The Fall Arts Walk is free and open to the public.
Downtown Thibodaux Fall Cleanup Day September 21 from 8 a.m.– 12 p.m. Downtown Thibodaux– Held biannually in the spring and fall, Clean Up Day is an opportunity for businesses, groups, families, and individuals of all ages to help beautify their hometown. Volunteers are invited to join Thibodaux Main Street, Inc. as they pick up litter, pull weeds, and spruce up downtown in time for the upcoming fall events. TPPL Comic Con September 21 – 22 TPL Main Branch– Community members are invited to come out for two full days of a fun, free comic con experience on Saturday, September 21 from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. and Sunday, September 22 from 2 p.m. – 6 p.m.. Participants will be able to enjoy movie screenings, shop at the comic market, listen to speakers from the community, and participate in a cosplay contest. Register for the cosplay contest here.
National Seat Check Saturday September 21 from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. Rouses Supermarket– There will be free child safety seat installation at Rouses Supermarket in Houma, located at 2233 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd.
Little Shop of Horrors September 21 -22 Thibodaux High School– Thibodaux High School presents Little Shop of Horrors on Saturday, September 21 at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m., and Sunday, September 22 at 2 p.m. Tickets are $10 for all ages. LPSD Safety Protocols will be enforced: Clear bags, anyone under 9th grade must have an adult.
