Vandebilt Catholic Terrier Tailgate | September 27 from 6 10 p.m. | Brother Alfred Kolb CenterMark your calendars for an exciting evening of fun, food, and philanthropy at the Vandebilt Catholic Terrier Tailgate! Attendees can look forward to a night filled with delicious food, refreshing drinks, live music, and a silent auction, all while supporting Vandebilt Catholic High School. Individual tickets are priced at $35, which includes food, beer, and wine. Tickets go on sale starting August 1, and all guests must be 21 or older to attend.

LDWF National Hunting and Fishing Day | September 28 from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. | Various Locations– Louisiana’s National Hunting and Fishing Day (NHFD) will be held Saturday (Sept. 28) at four locations across the state, the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries (LDWF) announced.Waddill Wildlife Refuge in Baton Rouge, Woodworth Shooting Range in Woodworth, the Tom Merrill Recreation Area at Bodcau Wildlife Management Area (WMA) in Haughton, and Black Bayou Lake National Wildlife Refuge in Monroe will all host this year’s event, sponsored by the Louisiana Wildlife and Fisheries Foundation. Attendees can try their skills at the shooting ranges, fishing ponds, and boating activities, and learn about wildlife with live animal demonstrations. It’s the perfect opportunity to enjoy the great outdoors with family and friends.

Brunch Under the Oaks: A Cook-off to Benefit St. Matthew’s Episcopal School | September 28 from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. | SMES Campus, 239 Barrow Street, Houma– Join us for a delightful fundraiser featuring a unique cook-off of delectable brunch foods. Teams of four are invited to compete in one of three categories: Sweet, Savory, or Both. Additionally, there will be a Drink category for beverages such as Bloody Marys and mimosas.

Gene Bonvillain’s 13th Annual It’s 5 o’clock Somewhere Fishing Rodeo | September 27-29 | Co Co Marina– In addition to the fishing rodeo, there will be games for kids, live music, an auction, and prizes! Tickets are $30 and you will receive a shirt, koozie and a chance to win either $500, $300 or $150 cash. The last time to buy tickets is Friday at 5pm.
