It’s time to put down the remote, get out of the house and kick up your heels, Cajun style.

“Louisiana’s Rockin’ Fiddler” Waylon Thibodeaux is bringing his foot-stompin’, high energy show to “Cajun Party in a Box” March 5.

You’re going to need plenty of rest before you get there and don’t forget to wear some comfy shoes. First, Thibodeaux will get your toes tapping. Then before you know it, you won’t be able to resist hitting the dance floor.

All that dancing is sure to work up an appetite. Get ready to sit down to a delicious meal of hot jambalaya, salad and French bread. You can bring whatever you like to drink but don’t forget to bring a cup. Plenty of ice will be on hand.

“Cajun Party in a Box” starts raising the roof of the Bayou Vista Community Center (1333 Belleview St. in Bayou Vista) at 6 p.m.

The limited amount of $12 tickets aren’t expected to last long. Call the St. Mary Chamber of Commerce at (985) 384-3830 or go to 7332 La. Highway182 East in Morgan City before they’re all snapped up.

Proceeds from “Cajun Party in a Box” benefit the St. Mary Arts and Humanities Council.
