March 29, 2011April 2: Ladybug Ball Children’s Festival (Houma)
March 31, 2011Welcome! ¡Bienvenido! Bienvenue!
Whether in English, Spanish, French or any other language, that is how children and adults will feel at the CASA for Kids Spring Fest. Titled “A World of Fun,” this event is set for Saturday, April 9, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., at Courthouse Square in Downtown Houma.
With more than 20 activity booths, each representing a different country, children can explore the various foods, cultures, arts and music in the world today. The event transforms the courthouse into a sort of “United Nations on the Bayou,” according to CASA representatives.
The annual fundraiser benefits CASA of Terrebonne Inc., a non-profit organization that works in the best interest of abused and neglected children in foster care. It’s one of CASA’s largest fundraisers of the year.
Admission to this event is free, but different activities and food range from $1 to $5.
Live, kid-friendly entertainers, including musician and storyteller Papillon and dancer Javier Juarez & Son, perform throughout the entirety of the celebration. And raffle items include a CASA cottage or fort.
