The Houma-Terrebonne Community Band is headed to the theatre and locals are invited to come along.

The band will perform “A Night at the Movies!” Sept. 22, at 6:30 p.m., at the JCPenney Court of Southland Mall.

The free concert will include a wide variety of music including pop, big band and marches.

Among the musical lineup: “A Disney Spectacular,” “As Time Goes By,” “Fiddler on the Roof,” “Go West,” “Great Waldo Pepper March,” “Hollywood!,” “Jesus Christ Superstar,” “My Fair Lady,” “Oklahoma,” “Saturday Night Fever,” “Somewhere Out There,” “Star Wars/Raiders March Medley,” “The Lion King,” “The Sound of Music” and “The Sounds of Hollywood.”

The 45-piece Concert Band and 16-piece Stage Band include members from across the Bayou Region. The groups team a wide range of music-lovers – bankers, housewives, oil-

field workers, teachers, secretaries, retirees and students – who perform at various events and functions.

The Houma-Terrebonne Community Band rehearses on Thursdays at 7 p.m. in the band room of Southdown Stadium, 1124 St. Charles St., in Houma. The Stage Band rehearses

Mondays at 7 p.m. in the same location.
