Ever wanted to have breakfast with Santa at his home?

Well, the Kids In Motion (K.I.M.’s) Foundation is bringing Santa’s house to the Tri-parish area.

The non-profit organization is hosting a Breakfast at the North Pole for children of all ages at the Cannatas Café on West Park Avenue in Houma. The event will be held on Dec. 12 from 8 to 11 a.m. Admission is $3 per person.

Foundation executive director Wendy Jeffcoat said the event offers children of all ages some holiday fun, food and crafts.

With the breakfast, Jeffcoat hopes to feed a slew of children and their families. The tentative menu is pancakes, choice of milk or juice and choice of bacon or sausage.

“Families are always looking for something to do together. With K.I.M.’s, we promote fun and family interaction,” she said. “Every month we have something different. Recently, we have done a lot at Cannatas. They allow us the freedom to explore our ideas while promoting their newly renovated café.”

After the hearty breakfast, children have a chance to make Christmas ornaments, play games and color sheets with a Christmas-theme. Good ole Saint Nick will also make an appearance to take pictures with the children. Pictures with Santa are $3 each.

Kids In Motion has partnered with local businesses like Cannatas to bring awareness about educating today’s youth. Jeffcoat said the monthly events are just a way to help the foundation raise money for a K.I.M.’s Discovery Museum in Houma.

The new facility proposes a site for children to expand their imaginations and learn basic skills that will be imperative to their development.

“Our mission is to spark the love of learning in all children, young and old,” she said. “Through interactive, hands-on experiences with the arts, sciences and humanities, children will develop creative thinking and problem solving skills, increasing their own potential.”
