Kingfish headed to Bayou Playhouse

For six shows only, Huey P. Long, aka “The Kingfish,” is coming to Lockport.

John “Spud” McConnell delivers an epic and colorful portrayal of the Kingfish at the Bayou Playhouse (101 Main St.) on Jan. 15-17 and 22-24.

Directed by Perry Martin, this one-man show promises to capture Long’s persuasive charisma, folksy appeal and political acumen. The play covers a broad spectrum of the former governor’s life – from his days as a traveling salesman to his entry into politics and his tragic end.
