Sept. 9-23; Grand Bois Intertribal Powwow (Bourg)

470 Bourg-Larose Hwy.; Friday, from 7-11 p.m.; Saturday, 11 a.m.-10 p.m.; and Sunday, 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Admission is $2 per person; seniors admitted free. The event unites Native Americans from all over the U.S. who share their heritage and culture and celebrate the changing seasons. The pow wow includes Native dancing and drumming, arts and crafts and Native American and Southern foods. It is an alcohol-and drug-free gathering. Lawn chairs are welcome. No ice chests.
