Children’s Activities

Sept. Event: Prime Time – Family Reading Time is designed to help families help their children improve their reading skills and enjoy reading. It is a special six-week program for parents and children aged 6-10. Storyteller Martha Hodnett will read wonderful award-winning children’s books and Ms. Jackie Jackson will talk about the stories. The programs are free and free transportation is available if needed. Families who want to participate must pre-register by calling 876-5158. It will be held at the Main Library every Thursday beginning Sept. 9 through Oct. 14 at 6 p.m. Join us for six free programs of stories, food and fun!

Exhibit: Charlie Audirsch will display his collection of rocks, gems and minerals throughout the end of the year. Much of Audirsch’s collection contains rocks and minerals he has collected on his own travels, hewn by him.

Exhibit: Daniela Archbold will display her artwork, which is multi-dimensional and often consists of found objects. Her work can be seen on permanent display in many businesses in the Houma area.
