The Houma-Terrebonne Chamber of Commerce, through their Chamber Cares initiative, has donated school supplies for the 8th Annual Pack the Bus to help students in need for the new school year.

The bus stopped by the Chamber Friday, July 29 where staff and volunteers presented supplies donated by community and Chamber members. The Chamber Cares aims to meet community needs through projects that are submitted to the Chamber. Through the initiative, Chamber ambassadors have completed community projects such as gardening and cleaning for non-profit organizations. As part of the initiative, the organization’s monthly general membership luncheon features a non-profit organization and provides collections for the featured non-profits.

Pack the Bus is a program by Synergy Bank and United Way that aims to help students in need in Terrebonne and Lafourche Parishes. Through various drop-off locations, the program has collected and distributed tens of thousands of school supplies to ensure students have successful learning experiences. This year, the 8th annual Pack the Bus will have to fill more needs than before as Hurricane Ida shook the region.
