Gobble Til You Wobble
November 22, 2023Congratulations to South Terrebonne High School senior Aubin Adams, who recently earned a $16,000 scholarship to study Marine Engineering at the University of New Orleans’ Boysie Bollinger School of Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering in 2024!
Adams has always had a passion for marine engineering and the maritime industry, and credits his childhood on the bayou for for choosing this path. “I have to say that growing up on the bayou down here, I’ve always loved boats,” explained Adams. “When it came time to grow up and make a decision about what to do with my life, it just fell in perfectly that marine engineering is what I should do. I knew this is what I was meant to pursue.”
Adams said that he hopes to use his degree to one day return to the Houma-Terrebonne area and work in the maritime industry. “The maritime business as we know it is a huge part of the economy down here,” said Adams. “I’m not 100% sure where I will be, but I know it won’t be far from here.”
Adams also wished to thank his support system at South Terrebonne High School, particularly his teachers and guidance counselors, for helping him achieve this goal and receive this prestigious scholarship–so he can continue to make Terrebonne parish a great place to live. Congratulations, Aubin!
