December 1, 2011A two-vehicle crash Friday evening in northeast Gray claimed the life of a Chauvin man and injured two others.
Steven Guidry, 48, driving a 1994 Ford Aspire east on Bayou Blue Bypass Road, failed to make a left-hand curve, crossed the centerline into westbound traffic and struck a truck traveling westbound, according to Louisiana State Police.
Guidry was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
Troopers believe that Guidry’s headlights were turned off at the time of the crash, police said, and the crash remains under investigation.
A passenger who was riding with Guidry suffered injuries that were not life threatening and was treated at a local hospital.
The driver of the truck sustained minor injuries and refused treatment. He was administered a breath test, which he passed.
