September 17, 2008A 28-year-old Chauvin man was arrested Friday for allegedly shooting another man in the head.
Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office detectives were called to 5920 Hwy. 56 in Chauvin Thursday morning. There they found the nude body of Steven Lecompte, 28. Authorities said he suffered a gunshot wound to the head.
James Brown, 28, of 403 Clinton St., was arrested early Friday morning. Sheriff’s Office attorney Bill Dodd said the two apparently fought over money prior to the shooting incident.
Brown is being held at the Terrebonne Parish Annex Jail awaiting a bond hearing, Dodd said during a press conference Friday.
The Chauvin man’s previous arrests include simple battery and driving while intoxicated charges, Dodd said.
