HPD reaches out to area’s needy with food boxes
December 2, 2010The City of Thibodaux mailed a total of 6,318 property tax notices on Nov. 24, 2010.
Taxes are due by Dec. 31, 2010.
For any property that was sold over the past year, the owner of record at the beginning of the year may receive the tax notice. Sometimes the tax is prorated at the sale, and it is the responsibility of the new property owner to see that all taxes due on the property are paid.
Homeowners with mortgages are advised to check with their mortgage companies before remitting payment to the City. Reverse side of tax bills will note if your mortgage company has requested a copy of your tax assessment.
Contact the Tax & License office at (985) 446-7221 between 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday for any questions regarding city tax bills.

City Hall 310 West 2nd Street Tax & License Service Window (Room 104); Utility Drive-up Window – Must have current bill. Cash, check or money order accepted until due date 12/31/10; or Night Drop Box located in front of City Hall

Visa and MasterCard are now being accepted in addition to cash, check and money orders for property tax payments. Please do not include any other monies owed to the City with tax payment. Due to the large volume of payments being received at this time of year, the City encourages payments to be made by mail.
