Days keep getting marked off the calendar as early summer now turns to mid-summer, and Terrebonne Parish keeps getting busier. It is for that reason Parish President Michel Claudet has announced his third annual town hall meetings to be held this summer in series.

Each meeting will begin at 6 p.m. They will be held in an open forum style, beginning with a 30- to 40-minute slide show presentation and ending with a question and answer session in order to keep residents abreast on different issues currently affecting the parish collectively, as well as locally.

“Somebody in Montegut might not be as interested in what’s going on in Dulac, so I try to talk about what’s going on in their area,” Claudet said. “I’m certainly looking forward to these meetings, we’ve been able to learn more about what residents want in those particular areas.”

Claudet also said he stays at the meetings until all questions from residents are answered.

Some of the collective issues to be discussed include quality of life, drainage, infrastructure, environmental management and economic development, according to Claudet’s press release.

Claudet stressed that in order to face the challenges ahead, Terrebonne Parish must work together to move forward.
