A series of informational town hall meetings conducted by Terrebonne President Michel Claudet will be held this week and throughout July at various communities in the parish.

Residents will be able to discuss their concerns in person with the parish president. Each meeting will have parish officials other than Claudet in attendance as well.

Next week, meetings will be held in Chauvin at the American Legion Hall Post 380 (4990 La. Highway 56) on Monday and at the Montegut Gym on Tuesday. All meetings in the town hall series start at 6 p.m.

Residents can discuss any topic about the parish, but each meeting will emphasize concerns particular to the community where the event is held, Claudet said.

Residents in Montegut, Chauvin and other areas of south Terrebonne are expected to discuss the concerns of their particular communities. North Terrebonne has more concerns in common, Claudet said. Residents can discuss the recent infusion of federal funding to Terrebonne.

According to spokeswoman Linda Henderson, Claudet will update the progress-as with levees-that has been made in Terrebonne since becoming president.

“The meetings allow districts to share information easier,” Henderson said. “It’s a better opportunity for constituents.”

Further town hall meetings will be held on Tuesday, July 7, at the Dularge Gym; in Dulac on Thursday, July 9, at the Grand Caillou Gym; in Houma on Thursday, July 16, at the Main Branch Library (151 Civic Center Blvd.); on Tuesday, July 21, at the Mechanicville Gym; in Gibson on Thursday, July 23, at the Devon Keller Gym; in Schriever on Tuesday, July 28 at St. Bridget’s Church Annex Building; and again in Houma on Thursday, July 30, in the Terrebonne Parish Council meeting room on the second floor of the Government Tower building.
