Helping him stay on track
December 16, 2014Home invasion suspect arrested
December 23, 2014Deputies in Terrebonne Parish are looking for a six foot tall white man in a gray sweatshirt, wearing jeans, possibly in his 20s, in connection with an armed robbery at a Bourg home Sunday morning.
The suspect, Sheriff Jerry Larpenter said, demanded the keys to an automobile at gunpoint from a woman in front of her home on the 4200 block of Country Drive at about 10 a.m.
The suspect fled in the auto as the victim’s husband fired multiple shots at it.
The suspect, Larpenter said, drove the car to La. 24 where it was abandoned south of the St. Ann Bridge and fled. He is believed to have been wounded.
The husband and wife were not reported to have been injured. Detectives processed the car where it was left, in a narrow field on the banks of Bayou Terrebonne, and found blood on the interior.
Area hospitals were checked and their personnel told to be on the lookout for anyone seeking treatment for wounds fitting the description.
A previous version of this story called the St. Ann Bridge the St. Andrew Bridge. The Times apologizes for the error.
