September 13, 2007The brother and sister-in-law of a murdered Bayou Vista man have been charged in connection with the Labor Day killing, St. Mary Sheriff’s Office reported Thursday.
The body of Adam Horton, 25, was found inside his residence at 537 Little Pines Lane Monday morning, authorities said.
The victim’s brother, Christopher L. Horton, 22, of 152 Burchfield Lane, Berwick, and Jimmy A. Wright, 21, of 566 Country Rd., No. 2226, Troy, Ala., are facing second-degree murder and obstruction of justice charges. Horton’s wife, Earline, 26, has also been charged with accessory after the fact to second-degree murder.
All three suspects are being held in the St. Mary Parish jail.
Authorities responded to Horton’s residence Monday. The St. Mary Parish Coroner’s Office declared Horton dead and conducted the autopsy, according to earlier releases.
The investigation is ongoing, and St. Mary authorities are not releasing additional information at this time.
The Morgan City Police and Berwick Police departments are also assisting with the investigation.
