LPSO arrests Bayou Blue man with variety of drugs, large amount of fentanyl
October 16, 2024Congratulations to the E.D. White Cardinal Vanguard, who recently traveled to Birmingham, Alabama to compete in the Bands of America Marching Competition for the first time in 30 years.
Facing some of the toughest bands in the nation, the Cardinal Vanguard delivered an outstanding performance, placing 2nd in their class and 11th overall. They performed in the preliminary rounds and then advanced to finals, giving their best performance thus far this season.

“This has been an incredible experience for the students, directors, staff, and parents. We are so proud of the students’ achievements and the way they upheld themselves to represent not only the program, but E. D. White Catholic High School and the Houma/Thibodaux Diocese,” said Lana Daigle, Cardinal Music Director. “This experience will help us grow the program now, and in the future.”
Bands of America is a program of Music for All, a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to create, provide, and expand positively life-changing experiences through music for all. Music for All’s Bands of America (BOA) marching band championships are the premier events for marching band in the nation.
The Cardinal Vanguard’s next performance is a local performance at Nicholls State University on October 29, 2024. Spectators can come out and support all our remarkable, District VII, high school marching bands starting at 2:45 p.m.
