October 21, 2010Tri-parish voters who cannot make it to the polls Nov. 2 can still have their voices heard on the upcoming Election Day.
Early voting for the Nov. 2 election runs until Tuesday.
To participate in the process, voters are asked to go to their Registrar of Voters office or other designated locations in each parish.
In Lafourche Parish, the early voting stations are located in the parish’s Registrar of Voter’s offices in Thibodaux and at the South Lafourche Library.
In Terrebonne Parish, the Registrar of Voters Office is located on 7856 Main St., in Houma.
And in St. Mary, voters may go to 301 Third St., in Morgan City.
Those interested in casting a ballot early are reminded that they need to present a valid form of picture ID that has your own name and signature.
Ballots may be cast each day from Oct. 19 through 26 (except on Sunday), and the polls are open from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Voters all across the Tri-parishes will be voting for lieutenant governor, a two-person race pitting Republican Jay Dardenne against Democrat Caroline Fayard.
The people will also decide amongst 12 candidates running for U.S. senator – a pool being paced by Republican incumbent David Vitter and Democrat Charlie Melancon.
The U.S. Representative for the 3rd Congressional District will also be decided in a two-candidate field pitting New Iberia Republican Jeff Landry and Houma Democrat Ravi Sangisetty.
All three parishes will also be the voice to decide among 10 amendments on the ballot.
And for Thibodaux voters, a new councilman in District C will also be named.
