Lafourche Booking Log – Jan. 12, 2018
January 14, 2018It snowed before Christmas. It also snowed in Cocodrie and Grand Isle just after New Year’s Day.
Now, meteorologists say it might happen again.
A cold front is expected to sweep through the area in the beginning of next week, giving a new blast of Arctic air to our area with temperatures forecast to drop into the 20s.
And there may be snow, too.
The latest run of the European Model shows that late Tuesday night and into Wednesday morning, there may be precipitation, which could turn into sleet or snow if temperatures are below freezing, which they are expected to be.
Meteorologists stress that the European Model is just one of many used in making a forecast and that other models do not show snow in the area.
They also stress to check back before Wednesday, because forecasts can significantly change between now and then.
But there’s a chance … and that should be enough to get locals excited.
