Via the Houma Fire Department Facebook: The marsh is on fire in the Bayou Cane Fire Protection District and Schriever Fire Department area between Hwy 90 and Savanne Road.
It is being monitored by all of the appropriate departments and is currently inaccessible. We will provide updates as we get more information. Like and follow our page.

Via the Bayou Cane Fire Protection District Facebook: There is marshland burning from Hwy 90, between Ousiki Bayou (the actual Bayou) and Bayou Cane (the actual Bayou) blowing towards Savanne Rd. We have flown a drone and are keeping a close eye on the situation. At this time we are unable to make an attempt to put it out as it is surrounded by bayous. You will experience some smoke and ash. Please take the proper precautions. We will update you as we receive more information. Please dial 911 to report any emergency.
