Lafourche Parish officials need help. In honor of the parish’s bi-centennial anniversary, the local government is planning a birthday party but need volunteers to help host the event.

President Charlotte Randolph said a concrete agenda has not been set but planning on a grand occasion, pulling all the stops. The one-day event will commemorate the history, people and life of Lafourche communities complete with music, food, and other events.

Nearly 200 years ago, 19 parishes were created from the Louisiana Purchase, Lafourche Parish being one, which has continued to thrive well into the new millennium.

The daylong celebration is set for March 31njust a few months awaynand officials are eager to begin setting plans in motion for this event.
