The Lafourche Education Foundation is excited to announce the upcoming 2025 Celebration of Excellence, an event dedicated to recognizing the exceptional achievements of Lafourche Parish’s top educators and distinguished alumni. The highlight of the evening will be the presentation of the 2025 Lafourche Parish Outstanding Graduate Award to Mike Duplantis, alongside honors for the 2025 Teachers of the Year.
This year’s Outstanding Graduate award goes to Mike Duplantis, a Central Lafourche High School alumnus and factory manager at John Deere in Thibodaux. Mike holds a bachelor’s degree from LSU and an MBA from Nicholls State University. He is recognized not only for his professional success but also for his continued dedication to community service. Along with his wife, Kendall, and their daughters, Maddie and Morgan, Mike has made a significant impact on the community through his leadership and philanthropic efforts.
In addition to recognizing Mr. Duplantis, the 2025 Lafourche Parish Teachers of the Year will be honored. Each Teacher of the Year will receive a $100 award, with parish-wide winners in elementary, middle, and high school categories receiving $500. This generous donation has been made possible by the support of Dr. James and Mrs. Joyce Leonard, longtime advocates for education in Lafourche Parish.

The Celebration of Excellence will be held on Wednesday, October 23, 2024, at the Central Lafourche High School Auditorium. The evening will begin with networking and light hors d’oeuvres at 5:30 PM, followed by the awards ceremony at 6:00 PM. Business casual attire is recommended.
