November 12, 2024The Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office is pleased to present the first group to complete the LPSO Leadership Academy!
These individuals completed four modules of the voluntary program created by the National Command & Staff College.
“The mission of the National Command & Staff College is to equip agencies to thrive, enhancing each individual’s leadership capacity, well-being, morale, productivity, and team-building skills,” reads a the National Command & Staff College’s website. “The organization aims to reduce risk and liability, crime rates, and citizen complaints through scientific and evidence-based educational and developmental programs.”
“This program showed me that there are multiple effective ways to lead, and the most effective leaders adapt to their people and environment. This course, not only showed me how to be a better leader, but a better public servant, better friend, and a better person,” said Captain Brennan Matherne. “We’ve been steadily seeing more positive feedback about our deputies, including in our recent citizen survey. I think as more employees go through this course, it will strongly benefit the agency as well as the community at large.”
