Lafourche Parish to hold public budget hearings

The Lafourche Parish Government is looking to adopt its 2010 budget Tuesday, Nov. 24, at its regularly scheduled council meeting.

However, before the Lafourche Parish Council can approve the budget, the public has the right to make any comments or recommendations to the parish about concerns in their neighborhoods.

The parish council has scheduled two open forums for residents to voice their concerns.

The first meeting is Monday, Nov. 9. The time for this hearing has not been released. The second meeting will be held before the regular council meeting on Tuesday, Nov. 10.

Both public hearings will be held in the parish government complex inside the old Wal-Mart in Mathews (4876 La. Highway 1).
