June 18, 2008Sheldon Johnson, M.D., a board certified therapeutic radiologist; Maurice King, M.D., a board certified radiation oncologist and Mary E. Saunders, M.D., a board certified therapeutic radiologist, have been appointed to the active medical staff at Terrebonne General Medical Center.
Johnson specializes in radiation oncology. He earned his medical degree from the University of Mississippi in 1974. He completed his internship at William Beaumont Army Medical Center in 1975 with a concentration in internal medicine.
Johnson was the general medical officer at Fort Polk Army Hospital from 1975-1976. He completed his residency program at M.D. Anderson Hospital in 1979 with a concentration in therapeutic radiology.
King earned his medical degree from Louisiana State University in 1985. He completed his internship in 1986 at Ochsner with a specialty in surgery. He went on to complete his residency at Ochsner in 1987 in the area of surgery.
He completed another internship program in 1991 at the University of Texas at San Antonio with a specialty in radiation oncology. King completed his residency program at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in 1993 also in radiation oncology.
Saunders earned her medical degree from Louisiana State University in 1975. She completed her internship program at Ochsner in 1976 with a concentration in internal medicine. She continued at Ochsner and completed the residency program in 1980 in the area of therapeutic radiology.
