October 17, 2007Statistical information on Louisiana’s labor force diversity is available online on the state Department of Labor’s Web site.
The “Louisiana Labor Force Diversity Data 2007” book contains figures based on annual population and average civilian labor force estimates for 2006. It is listed by state, metropolitan statistical area (MSA) and individual parish.
According to labor officials, the material is provided as a service to employers and to anyone who requires statistical information for compiling parish profiles, writing grant applications or completing affirmative actions plans for individual companies.
The current demographics are estimated by applying 2000 census of population ratios to the 2006 population and annual average civilian labor force figures. The demographic data categorizes the population and labor force by male, female and by using the latest census ratios.
The publication can be reached at www.LAWORKS.net. It is listed among the LMI Downloads (Forms, Publications & etc.) in the left-side menu. Select Louisiana Labor Force Diversity Data, then select the Labor Force Diversity Data Book for 2007 NEW.
