September 20, 2024The National EMS Academy, a division of Acadian Companies, is celebrating its recent EMT graduating class. The Houma campus had 14 graduates of its summer EMT course, which was offered tuition-free throughout Louisiana.
The EMT course covers Basic Life Support (BLS) concepts, including patient assessment, airway management, trauma management, cardiovascular emergencies, pediatric care, and many other concepts that are needed to treat members of the community. All of the graduates took the National Registry of EMTs exam, and upon passing, were eligible to begin working as EMTs.

National EMS Academy offers entry-level, continuing education and refresher courses for a number of EMS career pathways, including EMTs and paramedics. It is a nationally accredited EMS training facility with locations in Louisiana, Texas, and Tennessee and is an authorized American Heart Association Training Center for CPR and ECC courses.
