Harrison said he intends on examining tax credits and exemptions given to businesses by the state to see what Louisiana gets in return for offering those incentives and cutting them where they cost the state money. He also said he’d like to fight to protect healthcare and higher education spending from cuts in order to balance the state budget.
Amedee, who is currently a Terrebonne Parish Councilmember representing District 4, told The Times previously that she aims to improve transportation infrastructure in Terrebonne Parish and reducing frivolous spending at the state level.
