Scratch-off ticket nets Houma man $200,000

Houma’s Earnest J. Darcey is $200,000 richer after winning an instant prize on the Louisiana Lottery Corporation’s $1 million Spectacular.

Darcey purchased his winning ticket at BJ’s Country Corner #2 on West Main Street in Houma, according to lottery officials. When he collected his check in New Orleans, Darcey reportedly said he planned to purchase a new vehicle and pay off debts with his winnings, lottery spokeswoman Kimberly Chopin said.
