Sheriff’s ranges give public a new target
March 11, 2010The U.S. Senate has prolonged special tax credits designed to help the Gulf Coast recover its affordable housing stock damaged by Hurricanes Katrina and Rita.
The U.S. House still must approve the two-year extension OK’d Friday by the Senate.
U.S. Sen. Mary Landrieu’s office says about 6,200 affordable housing units on the Gulf Coast depend on the extension. The Senate extended a crucial deadline by which to get the credits to Dec. 31, 2012.
