An alert caller notified Houma Police Monday evening that the Rite Aid Drug Store on Grand Caillou Road was about to be robbed, authorities said.

The caller said a man entered the store carrying a rag or possibly a mask in his hand, looked around, then walked outside to the rear of the building, police said.

Responding officers drove to the rear of the store and found two males standing behind the store wearing what appeared to be white masks over their heads.

The officers ordered the two to get on the ground; however, the males ran toward the AutoZone and then onto East Street. Police did catch one of the suspects, a 16-year-old East Houma boy, who was charged with conspiracy to an armed robbery and resisting an officer.

Police have not located the second suspect. The case remains under investigation, police said.
