1. Infrastructure: Houma System

Approximately 60% customers served.

Anticipate over 80% to be served by day’s end and the balance that are able to receive power by tomorrow night.

Service restored to most critical infrastructure including courthouse, TGMC hospital, TPCG Gov’t Tower, City Hall and main computers, Houma Terrebonne Civic Center and HPD.

Today’s efforts focused on remaining downtown Houma, east Houma north of Grand Caillou, central Houma bounding Tunnel Blvd. between Polk and St. Charles, and establish service to Cummins substation to serve south of the city including Presque Isle, Green Acres, Woodlawn and the Ashland Criminal Justice Complex.

Repairs continuing at the Houma Generating Station; one unit current operable at 50% capacity; balance of capacity anticipated to be available by Wednesday but will not be utilized as long as ample supply is available from the regional transmission system.

South Louisiana Electric Cooperative

Reports approximately 53% of customers served with service to Dularge expected to be restored today.

Entergy

Report 25% of customers in the retail region servicing Terrebonne and parts of Lafourche; approximately 21,000 customer remain out.

2. Water Service

Parish remains under a boil or disinfect water before consumption until further notice.

3. 85% to 90% of water service has been restored to the parish. Repairs for the remaining areas without service are continuing, those being the Pointe Aux Chenes and Grand Caillou communities.

4. Mosquito control/truck spraying has resumed throughout the parish. Aerial spraying will start today.

5. Citizens on public sewerage are now being served at approximately 46% capacity. Work remains to place the remaining 54% on full service.

6. The Fire Marshall has advised that permitting will be expedited and they will waive the original submittal documents for temporary office buildings only. I.E., businesses, which may operate out of trailers or portable buildings.

7. Three (3) incidents of carbon monoxide poisoning in the parish last night, which law enforcement and emergency personnel, had to respond. One of those individuals affected was a 5-year-old child.

8. Houma Police reported 11 summonses for curfew violations; 2 reports for criminal damage to property; they responded to 19 business and residential alarms and handled 6 medical calls. As power comes back on, please be sure to check your alarm systems because police do not need to be responding to alarm systems which go off because of damage they may have received during the storm as this takes officers away from more important functions.

9. Three (3) shelters are now open in the parish: Dumas Auditorium, Houma Jr. High, and Evergreen.

10. Houma Jr. High has approximately 100 people; Dumas has approximately 85 people, with nurses on site for special need citizens.

11. Distribution sites: Bayou Cane is being moved to Kirschman’s on Armor Drive (on the side of the mall). Times for all distribution points remain 8:00 am to 6:00 pm.

12. People are reminded, if at all possible, to check the parish website for continued updates on FEMA’s programs, food stamp programs, and in particular, other services available to the public such as the blue roof program.

13. Again, the medical assistance center at Winn Dixie Building at 1815 Prospect is open from 7am n 7pm for services to the public.

14. Several of the clinic facilities located by Leonard Chabert Medical Center will be opening on the side of the main structure, but we will have to provide a date and time for same later this afternoon or tomorrow.

15. Terrebonne General Medical Center and its E.R. are seeing patients but, again, please do not overburden that facility with minor injuries in the E.R. that can be taken care of by yourself.

16. The hot kitchen located at Christ Baptist Church on East Tunnel is going to be moved to the Town Hall parking lot on Barrow Street.

17. 75% of all roadways in Terrebonne Parish have now been cleared of debris.
