Take art, leave art, and inspire your creativity with Thibodaux Main Street’s upcoming addition, the Little Free Art Gallery!

Similar to the “take a book, leave a book” free libraries often seen around communities, this little box will serve as a sweet nest for the community’s creations, your mini masterpieces, and your pint-sized Picassos. The only rule is, if it fits, it sits!

“I came up with this idea back in 2020, and have been wanted to add it to Downtown Thibodaux ever since. I reached out to my Uncle Vincent to build the box and my godchild Ava to paint the sign, and in less than two weeks it was ready to go,” explained Danielle Stein, Executive Director of Thibodaux Main Street. “I’m looking forward to seeing all the different types of art people contribute to it. There are so many talented artists in our area, and I think it will be a great way to encourage creativity in our community members.”

The Little Free Art Gallery enjoyed its first test run at the Fall Downtown Arts Walk this past weekend, and will find a permanent home in the planters outside The Bridal Corner, Inc. within the month. Stay tuned to Thibodaux Main Street’s Facebook page for information on when donations will open, or take a stroll around Thibodaux to see if you can spot it soon.
