The Terrebonne Parish Main Library will be closed on Saturday, April 22, 2023 due to road closures for Girls on the Run Bayou Region Fun Run / Spring 5k, and the Ladybug Ball. The GOTR Fun Run and Spring 5K will begin at 9 a.m. prior to the start of the Lady Bug Ball. The race course will begin and finish at the Civic Center and travel though surrounding neighborhoods. Below is a map of the course. If you live in one the neighborhoods cheer on the GOTR participants, and seek alternate routes during the race. The 17th Annual Ladybug Ball will kick off at 10 a.m. at 86 Valhi Blvd. in Houma, next to the Courtyard Marriott and the TPL Main Library Branch. Guests are invited to enjoy arts and crafts booths, kids activities, petting zoo, ladybug release, costume contest, food and drinks, and more. Due to the library closure, the book drop will not be available. The TPL Main Branch will waive all fines incurred during this time. Feel free to visit the North Branch or East Houma Branch from 8:30 a.m. – 5 p.m. on Saturday, April 22, 2023 for library services.
The following day, April 23, 2023 the Main Library Branch will host a 20th Anniversary Celebration! Join the celebration and the fun from 2 p.m. – 5 p.m. Festivities include a color explosion walk, free cake, lemonade, and snowballs, a magic show with David LeBoeuf, puppet show with Kid Six Productions, a Terrebonne Parish Animal Shelter Adoption Event, live Cajun music with Southern Image Band and Cajun Bon Temps Band and more!
