Terrebonne Registrar of Voters reminds citizens to follow No Electioneering Laws, keeping voting safe and neutral
October 25, 2024Terrebonne Parish Sheriff Tim Soignet is pleased to announce the launch of their first ever Bike Patrol Division, which is now the newest addition to the TPSO Patrol Division.
“This division was developed in response to our ongoing Community Safety initiative, which we feel will have a dramatic impact on the safety services we provide to our community,” says TPSO. “Please join us in congratulating 1st Lt. Coty Knoblock, Sgt. Sara LaChico, Sgt. Judson Clark, and Sr. Dy. Brittany Sons on their achievement and selection to the Bike Patrol Division.”
The newly formed division is comprised of the four deputies listed above, who were required to attend a course designed as an entry level training for law enforcement personnel utilizing specialized mountain bikes for patrol activities. The course combined classroom training in areas such as vehicle and traffic law, bicycle safety, and performance and maintenance, along with learning cycling techniques involving obstacles, such as stairs, curbs, parking lots and off-road trails, with training assistance from the Houma Police Department.
The Bike Patrol Division will be utilized for a number of events throughout Terrebonne Parish, such as Mardi Gras, Neighborhood patrols, Holiday patrols in shopping centers, local festivals, and many other special events!
